It might just happen PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. What happened today never should have happened and it was instigated by Trump.

SGT (Join to see) - Your comment shows wisdom you are a good NCO on the road to being a great one. the left did break into the capitol in 2018. Just so you know I'm not a republican I am an Independent I was not a Trump supporter but he was a better pick then Clinton. I used to vote Dem until they turned into a bunch of lying race baiters. But I always put my country first I think that is what is missing in this country as whole.

MSG Greg Kelly, you're right on the money MSG. I definitely do not fit myself into party politics either. Both sides leave much to be desired, and sanity is to be found in the middle, not ascribing support and power blindly to one side or the other. IMO Trump WAS a better pick than Clinton, but I'm one of those 'vote my heart' people and stuck to the third party because I believe neither Reps or Dems have the interests of The People at heart.

SGT (Join to see) - Sounds like your parents did a good job. If you stick to your convictions you are doing fine. I will give you one piece of advice I was given by a Vietnam Infantry vet that was my first squad leader. "Mission first men always" and your life will be better and your career full filling. I miss the Infantry very much but I am proud of my career. I have a soldier who I am in contact with who just retired as an E9 I am very proud of him he has filled me in as best he could. From my platoon that we were in he knew for a fact there were at least 2 other E9s , 6 E8s and a lot of E7s and E6s. Now those soldiers made their own way but I like to think I helped push them along. That is a good career as a Leader. Take care SGT and be safe.

MSG Greg Kelly Thank you MSG, for the advice and the kind words. I certainly try to do my best, especially in relation to my fellow soldiers. When I'm feeling nostalgic, I miss my Infantry days as well... then the reality kicks in that I'm not a spring chicken anymore and I'm happy to be where I'm at. Ha hah. Best wishes to you in retirement, and I'm happy to hear that you are proud of your career and the mentorship you extended throughout. Time well spent!
