As a Woman Serving Alongside Green Berets, I Had No Problem Keeping Up. It Wasn’t Enough.

We can't expect mental changes overnight...it has been a good ole boy network since inception and those old mindsets will eventually change but not overnight. IMHO neanderthals will eventually be replaced with professionals...not saying all SF (all services) are neanderthals when it comes to integration of women in these roles...I would venture to say that 90 plus percent of them are accepting as they would be of anyone entering the inner sanctum of SF...can you get the job done or not by meeting and exceeding the standards...period! But there are those in the 10 percent range that dismiss women altogether in those roles...and they will probably never change but they will eventually move on and retire or seperate and the new generation will take over. Jackie Munn and Leah Murchison and others like here will continue to break the glass ceilings and make it happen by proving their worth but again we can't expect it to change overnight.

If this female Captain is complaining about statements heard, she is definitely not ready. Guess what Captain. All those meeting are cool, wait until you are having to fight day in and day out. See your brother die and then do all over the next day. You are not ready.
