Lt Col Charlie Brown - I was talking to one fellow at a party that worked on tanks in the Military and when he exited the service he studied and got his pilots license. He is loving it now. I'm always impressed with people that put their minds to it and achieve goals.

The pilot shortage is 100% the airline industry's fault, and they know it. ALPA was addressing this issue as much as 8 years ago. Congress has put some patches on the problem such as increasing the retirement age from 60 to 65, and there are rumors of it going even higher. Some of their more idiotic ideas have been to reduce ATP standards and single pilot cockpits. When they get tired of picking body parts out of trees, maybe they will realize that they don't know jack about the issues involved.
