As reverse mortgages end, heirs are left with heartache

Talked my in-laws out of this last year. Good thing as my father-in-law passed in April. The wording was weird for a surviving spouse- so wife and I helped them through the patch and continue to help my mother-in-law. WORST IDEA ever and when I see them advertised here I always comment. Best way for them to bilk hard working American's out of money- but they put TV stars faces to the pitch. The guy freaked on my in-laws when i told them to tell him piss up a rope. He said I did not understand and he wanted to discuss with me. When he called- I started the conversation with we should do this face-to-face. He declined. I told him it was most likley in his best interest- they have owned their home for years and the cusp they were going ot garner was about $40K from what I could piece togheter- and then have to pay that back over time. They have to maintain the home to CODE STANDARDS at all times- cracks in sidewalks, electrical, plumbing etc- and submit to inspections periodically by a company contractor- that the owner pays for....wow. What a rip off.
