This article reminds me of a situation that I ran into while playing "Game of War". The game requires communication between players from around the world in real time to coordinate assets for a variety of reasons. I found myself relying on "Google Translate" heavily to navigate the multiple languages that my alliances players spoke. While this was translation of written language, the method I employed was a novel use of technology. While playing the game on my iPad I would use google translate on my iPhone to translate foreign players conversations by viewing their translated text through Google translate on my iPhone by using the camera to read their text, and then display it in English. As you can imagine it was a tricky operation to pull off. But it allowed for communication in a way that I would not have thought possible until just recently.
