SGT Mark Estes They are not part of Nato to My Knowledge so we're not legally, treaty bound to assist but we have lent moral and other support since their independence.

Russia would run over Ukraine forces in a heartbeat. Unless of course western allies stepped in. However, according the article, Ukraine is not a member of NATO. So they would left to fend for themselves.
