The masks seem a little much...These are all young, healthy men. They do have gloves on and could put polypropylene gloves on under their dress gloves. Warriors overly concerned about a virus.

Agreed. In addition they are not talking, licking their fingers, or picking their nose during the course of their duty during the ceremony which means the masks are completely not needed. This one size fits all approach is ridiculous.
Standby for the Chicken Littles to appear and respond....
On a side note: OMG Military Funerals are considered to be "Essential Activities?"

Has nothing to do with safety. The theory behind the mask, aside from keeping you from sucking your fingers or picking your nose, is so your spittle from speaking doesn't contaminate the person you are speaking to (which would actually require you to basically hock up a loogy and spit it directly into another's mouth in order to cross contaminate). Their duty is to say nothing and maintain their bearing therefore no mask is needed.
