Would not want to be the OSCAR that they tried it on, SN Greg Wright . Knew of a Coastie who volunteered to be OSCAR for an air station to practice SAR. You guessed it, they lost track of him and a SAR practice turned into a real SAR case. They eventually found him. BL: not fun. In my opinion, same with having a sail crew try a Williamson for the first time with a shipmate in the water. Not advisable.

CDR (Join to see) - A PO1 and I went sailing in SF Bay once, and flipped the boat. It was made to right itself, which it did, and we both had vests, so we were fine, but that was taste enough for me to know I wouldn't want to be in a more serious situation. Fortunately, I've avoided it thus far.
