Last night I signed a White House petition to authorize a Cold War Medal to all military personnel who served between 1947 and 1991.
I was awarded three National Defense Medals because I was in active military service during three periods of war. I know many veterans who served honorably during the Cold War and some received no recognition beyond the Cold War certificate which most of us received.
I recognize that many believe there are too many medals already.
I hope you will join me in supporting this effort.
