Azimuth Check "Pathfinder"

In Winter 2019, the Azimuth Check Foundation (
http://www.acfne.org) executed "Operation Mountain Resolve", which was focused on getting Service Members off the couch, and on to Snow, by enabling a number of Veterans to participate in various Salute to Service Events; by sponsoring lessons for veterans, through our various adaptive sports partners.
This included events at Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain Resort, Bretton Woods, New Hampshire & Attitash Ski Resort; as well as a Biathlon Camp at Pineland Farms, in cooperation with VAST; and our adaptive partners including New England Disabled Sports, AbilityPLUS Adaptive Sports, ASPNC, and soon with "Northeast Passage", a group out of UNH.
After a successful first season, with the "Operation Mountain Resolve" initiative; it is time to start focusing on the other 3 seasons of the year.
And, we have a simple three part plan to make it happen, as we expand from a "Go Ruck" & "Golf Tournament" to many more modalities and a wider range of activities.
Step 1) Is identifying other Service Members & First Responders who have become Guides, Coaches, Teachers and mentors or recreational Therapists; after having taken a knee post service; conducting an Azimuth Check, and finding a bearing that works for them, in the civilian world.
These are our "Pathfinders"; Like AJ.
They are the ones who are setting an example for others to follow, they are beacons of hope for our other "Azimuth Check Team Members", sponsors, or partner organizations.
If you know someone, or if are someone who fits that bill; if you have found a form of Recreational Therapy that works for you, and you want to share it.....
Well then, we want you, to help us, help others!
If you own or work for a guide service and want to lead a climb, a trip or an Expedition for those who have served others, contact us.
If you have found a way to live beyond injury, or after service; and are willing to let us tell your story, because it will motivate others.....
Then please, contact us! Let us help you, tell your story!
Step 2) Motivate our Brothers and Sisters in service, to get off the couch and out the door, onto a rock, into a river, on a horse; or maybe behind an easel, in a garden, or behind a camera....anything to get them, out of that box, above their shoulders for a day.
Step 3) Link up those individuals, who are willing to step out the door, with an Azimuth Check "Pathfinder", Service, Event, or Program that interests them; to get them out of the six inch box on their shoulders. In order to create new memories, find new thrills, and learn to recreate; so that we can eventually reintegrate, and not have to medicate.
If you have an idea for an event, or know of an event, contact us.
If you are a "Pathfinder" that has figured out a healthy way to deal with the world... contact us, and let us tell your story!
If you were a civil servant, and somehow we have motivated you to enter an event, contact us, and become one of our "Azimuth Check Athletes"; let us help you break into that sport!
Cheers and we hope to hear from you!
