Badass of the Week: King Naresuan the Great of Thailand

This man is a legend in Thailand. Many consider him the "Father of Modern Thailand". I happen to live in the city where he was born, Phitsanulok. Here he is more known for his prowess as a gambler than a warrior. As a child, he was a hostage for his father's good behavior in the Burmese Imperial Court. During that time, he bet his inheritance, the crown of Thailand, with the Crown Prince of the Burmese Empire on a cock fight. He won the bet, and this started a rivalry that lasted well into adulthood. Because of this, you see statue of roosters in the colors of the one he bet on all over the city, and at his shrine.
