Ignorance mated with stupidity produces the idiocy this fool advocates, "Ban the muzzle-loader before it can become the 'weapon of choice' of the violent among us".
Nothing is so stupid as to wish to ban what you see as a potential threat, when it simply cannot rise to such a level of public danger.
He might just as well demand nutmeg be banned from flavoring our eggnog, because it can be poisonous.

The next thing you know is gang members will start wearing buckskin pants down around their knees and a pullover buckskin shirt with antler button beads all hanging down and stuff. I guess we can then pick out those would be muzzle loader shooters?

I have four black powder muskets we use for living history events. This is always our greatest fear. The fact you can fix a bayonet on the end of these muskets strikes fear into the hearts of the anti gun lobby.

Maj John Bell - Just hope that they don't start adding pistol grips to the muzzle loaders!

Maj John Bell - I'm surprised they haven't included the stacking swivel along with the bayonet lug as a "military feature" that "civilians" should be forbidden to have on their firearms.
I don't doubt that some of the same ignorance manifested in thinking a barrel shroud is a "shoulder thing that goes up", considers a stacking swivel as something on a firearm that "stacks up the bodies of its victims".

Banning muzzle loaders, huh?
Kinda puts the kibosh on the gun control crowd's argument that the Second Amentment only applies to the weapons of thebperiod, doesn't it?
The key word in "gun control" is, alway has been, and always will be "control".

Anti-gunners are completely devoid of logic when it comes to the 2nd Amendment. They like to harp on the "well regulated militia" phrase, apparently without realizing that if the militia clause was indeed the main clause, then it would by definition protect militia-style weapons. But those same people are the ones lining up to ban "assault weapons", which are among the most militia-ready guns available on today's market.
