I still maintain that Montgomery was a narcissistic blowhard. My vote is for Patton (even though the comparison was between Eisenhower and Montgomery). Many historians who who have analyzed the relationship between Eisenhower and Patton seem to agree on one basic point. Eisenhower was the Strategist and Patton was his Operational and Tactical pit bull. Patton, though unorthodox at times, won battles and that is what wins wars.....
