This one was so simple, it should have been one of the first. Now to determine how to get help to the inner cities where many are destitute and areas crime ridden. He has a tough job ahead. Brain surgery may seem easier, before this is done.

He has the character and intellect to get it done.......going to take longer than 4 years though...Always liked this guy for HHS .......Vote was 58 to 41.......should have been 99 to 0.

I guess I don't understand how Ben Carson, a surgeon, is going to make a good HUD Secretary. I might be wrong, but I would think that there would be a better position for a man of his talents.

From what I have read about Dr. Carson his bonifides come from being a customer if you will of HUD. So, if that is the case and he is familiar with that side of HUD he very well could be an ideal candidate to improve the output of the agency.

LTC (Join to see) - Even if he didn't there is no denying that he is an incredibly smart man, and as PO1 John Crafton pointed out, his background in administration, coupled with his natural intelligence, may be just what HUD needs.

Liberals get all upset when we bring in people from the energy industry to consult on energy policy. They prefer instead to consult with environmentalists when making energy policy. That doesn't seem to leave a whole lot of room for complaining about someone's lack of direct experience.
