Today marks the 58th anniversary of the construction of the Belin Wall. My first duty assignment was inside the Wall.
Many of the younger generations do not know this was ever constructed let alone why it was built and that at the height more than 1,000 skilled workers per day were fleeing Communism to freedom in the West before the wall was built. All the lives lost trying to get to freedom. Their stories should not be lost to time
Please help tell their stories and keep the darkness from which they were fleeing from extinguishing our light.

SGT Robert R. - My apology. Was referring that seeing that it was your first duty station and now your retired. Time to relax and enjoy. After re-reading what I wrote earlier here in your post I now realize that I should of used more words to express properly. With your knowledge of the Berlin Wall you should be front and center with the history.
