Does Bernie actually know how the economy works? What do you think? Debt is a commodity. Someone owns it and it isn't the government. So who will pay the owners of the debt Bernie wants to summarily cancel? And no, you can just print money and give it to them. That would be stealing from the rest of us.

Is this the way to handle the issue? Punish those that were responsible with their student finances and reward those that were irresponsible? Or should Congress work as expected in their Economic role and work to raise working peoples incomes so they can pay back the damn loans instead of opting to pay them off with other peoples money? Congress is completely dysfunctional if it cannot figure out which option is better for the country.......it should be real obvious.
