America all through the decades had medical services that worked. People did not die in droves at the front of hospitals because they were denied services. Thus causing the trucks to line up to haul the bodies away the way Russia Buried thousands in the woods. Oops little comparison of how Russia flat out murdered thousands and how they drove them out at night. My bad.

As a cancer patient, I can't help but compare U.S. cancer morbidity rates with those of Western Europe where they have socialized medicine. Had I been living in Germany or even Canada in 2009, I'd have bit the dust years ago. Little wonder that folks living in those countries come to America when they are seriously ill.

I look at the VA medical system; and the only logical thought that comes to mind is "Gotta get me some of that." In the last 8 years I'm on my fourth family practice physician. Two have retired early, because they are financially secure and "It's just not worth the hassle anymore." And one has emigrated to South America to serve the expatriate community, where she "...gets to practice medicine, instead of hitting daily treatment quotas."

The regional Heart and Vascular practice is opening an office in Central America, where patients can practice "medical tourism." And still pay less after covering air fare and post-hospital outpatient recovery, than the typically insured person getting treated in the US.

Since the Federal government stuck its camel nose under the tent flap and increased demand, when will it address supply. As far as I can tell supply is dwindling rapidly.
