Very sorry to learn of passing of Capt. Luis Carlos Montalvan, US Army age 43, author of best selling book, "Until Tuesday" which described struggling with physical injuries and PTSD until turned around when his service dog "Tuesday" entered his life. We did an interview with Luis a few years ago, and had talked about getting together so I could photograph him with Tuesday and talk in more depth, a plan never carried out to my regret. We have talked about the benefits of service dogs on our shows and there is a service dog out there named Florence In honor of my aunt a US Navy veteran. Our condolences and prayer to family and friends of Luis.

I attended a fundraiser where he talked with Tuesday in El Paso, TX in Feb 2016. He was amazing. A very sad loss.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I followed Capt. Montalvan and Tuesday on facebook and they always had a great message. RIP Sir. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I benefit greatly from my PTSD dog and hope more can become available and affordable for more veterans.

A post near us in Eastchester NY made a big effort on promoting service dogs ten years ago. They worked with a group in Boston named NEADS. We donated an amount to have a service dog named Florence after my aunt a US Navy veteran. At the time the VA was reluctant to get into the service dog business, not sure how much they do on supporting service dogs today.
