There are plenty of solutions, just none that are allowable under the current Dept of Ed regulations. You can't teach a ODD student the same way you teach an autistic child or an ADHD child, we have a one solution program that is failing. I'm so sick and tired of explaining to my child that she's not dumb just because the common core math process is very difficult for her. She gets the additions right when she does it her own way, but the count the bubbles method requires her to remember too many variables so she can't get it right. Our system is broke students should be measured on their performance not their approach. We need a standard test not a standard curriculum. Deregulation in Washington is the first step to get to that point.

The federal government needs to get out of education period, all they have done over the last 20 plus years is make things worse. I agree with Devos on some things, choice is good especially when the school district your child is in fails.
