I used to walk to the little convenience store shopping area as a kid. Most of the time I'd stop to play pinball in the store. Before Blockbuster Movie Rentals, a local entrepreneur opened a movie rental store a few doors down from the the convenience store. I seemed to remember renting this movie more than any other movie on the shelf.

I tagged newspapers because in another part of the movie Layne (John Cusack) is chased by a deranged paperboy with a switchblade comb throughout the town antagonizing Layne for a $2 tab for delivery.
