Candy is Dandy but Killing folks over "Religion" is as old as it gets. "Accept My God and Accept my Interpretation of My God or Die". Even folks that aren't necessarily religious know it is a great propaganda tool for Murder "We are a Christian Nation, Ours is a Christian Movement, We will accept none among our Ranks who is Not a Christian" Adolf Hitler. Murderous Religious Zealots are just so special.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. Thanks for the response and candor. Hitler fooled a lot of people including some in the Church. Megalomaniacs are good at that sort of thing. Hitler fooled the masses, many in the Church, certainly the existing government at the time and even the Kaiser.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel That likely depends upon which Islamic Scholars you listen to. There are many Imams that preach a very radical set of views/interpretations. Many Imams have no issue with making women as second class citizens (no voting, covered up, cannot go in public without a man etc), strict punishment on homosexuality or pre-marital sex, cutting off hands, stoning as a punishment and many other things we would consider unacceptable in the west today.

Halliburton's business with the military has grown substantially since Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney took office. The company rose to seventh-largest military contractor in 2003 from 22nd-largest in 2000.

The contracts did not prove to be as profitable as executives had hoped, however, and accusations of political favoritism led to a public relations nightmare. On Thursday, Halliburton said it was considering selling its subsidiary that holds the contracts in Iraq.

Mr. Cheney's financial disclosure statements from 2001, 2002 and 2003 show that since becoming vice president-elect, he has received $1,997,525 from the company: $1,451,398 in a bonus deferred from 1999, the rest in deferred salary. He also holds options to buy Halliburton stock.

Mr. Cheney's critics concede that there is no concrete evidence that he has pulled any strings on Halliburton's behalf. But he has refused to answer a request from Democrats in Congress that he provide an accounting of any communications he and his staff have had with Halliburton or actions they have taken on Halliburton contracts.

"Matthews responded, "Yeah, it’s the scariest thing I’ve ever seen, and, you know, I don’t know where to start. I mean, Halliburton. Sound familiar? Cheney. Cheney was head of Halliburton. When he got to be vice president, when he was signed for vice president, the oil company gave him a $34 million signing bonus to become vice president of the United States."

"Containment" never works. Remember the attempts to "contain" communism? That failed. So did detente (let's all get along like any two sensible rattlesnakes stuck together in the same burlap bag). The only thing that ever works is confrontation. However, that takes courage, a commodity sadly lacking in American leadership these days.
