First time I saw them was as a teenager at Moffet Field. Interestingly, Billy Curtiss took off at the same time in his original biplane as two of the Blue Angels did in their F-4 Phantoms. While Curtiss flew the boundaries of Santa Clara County, the two Phantoms flew south to Miramar NAS near San Diego, landed, took off and returned before Curtiss returned. It was an amazing display of our technological prowess.
