You are right Col Dona Marie Iversen, The good that officers do on a daily basis gets overshadowed by a few bad apples. I have always been a supporter of LE. My dad was a reserve deputy for Denton County in Texas where I grew up. He had a full time job at Peterbuilt (building semi trucks) and did the LEO on his time off. He did not get paid to be an LEO but was a full certified peace officer. His actions doing this made my love for LE career field that much stronger. I am currently in the last leg of the hiring process for an appointment to the LE academy in Tucson, AZ. Once I retire in 7 short months, I will hopefully have a job as an officer. I guess I support the thin blue line so much that I decided to join. Thanks for the post and may your LE family be safe and blessed.

Capt Tom Brown - I agree with your statement. I think we have become a "me-me-me" society. If it doesn't go along with my way of thinking then it is wrong. If we just valued everyone's opinion and just press on without causing a ruckus then we could maybe get along. I think many of these so called hate groups would actually try and do something to correct the issue(s) instead of just preaching and trying to get the attention then it probably would be a null issue. I hope that came across right?!?! I do believe that no one group, race, gender, religion is better than the other. We are all the same on the inside. I do agree that some take their beliefs and ideas to the extreme. I am a very open minded person and I honestly don't care if people agree with me or not. If it does not affect me or my family and my way of life then do your thing. I will sit down and talk respectfully to anyone about any issue at hand as long as you have facts and a logical argument. Conversations like that are not one sided like some make them out to be. I will listen to your side and I will respectfully give you my side and way of thinking. People would be surprised that they might learn something by doing this. Sorry I will step down from my soapbox.
