Military Boards of Inquiry are fact-finding bodies to inquire into incidents of poor performance and misconduct. If the subject of such boards is found guilty then, the Board can recommend trial by GCM or discharge. In either case, there is process and opportunities to appeal. A Board of Inquiry only recommends further action to the GOCMA and this GO then, initiates the process.
