SGT John " Mac " McConnell thanks for the read and share of the most interesting.
The USS Franklin (CV/CVA/CVS-13, AVT-8), nicknamed "Big Ben," was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy, and the fifth US Navy ship to bear the name. Commissioned in January 1944, she served in several campaigns in the Pacific War, earning four battle stars.

the early 1980s, I spoke to a security guard at this Membership Department Store in California called fedco and he told me he was on the Franklin and how so many men died. he didn't exaggerate he just mentioned he was on the ship and how the fire and the bombs exploding kill so many but they managed to save the ship.

Thanks SGT John " Mac " McConnell for sharing a video of the Japanese bombing of Essex-class aircraft carrier USS Franklin in March 1945.
The Japanese were going all out with Kamikaze and dive bombers to inflict as much damage on our capabilities as possible at this point in the war in the Pacific. Aircraft carries capability was at the top of the list for Japanese targeting throughout the war.
