That is impressive to me. Remotely opening a door has always been a slow process robotically.

So many interesting things about that process! The first thing that caught my attention was how the door opening robot got 3-D perspective by holding the "hand" stationary while it moved to the side to view and measure from a different angle. We do that automatically with two eyes, while the robot has one sensor and had to physically move itself. I wonder how long it's going to be before they put two sensors on the robots... when that happens, the process is going to become much more fluid.

SSgt Christopher Brose - Oh, without a doubt. With no depth perception (I assume) it takes a second camera to complete the picture, but it didn't take it long to do it. Almost spooky how far this stuff has come since we got our robots.
