Brandon Friedman: What cops can learn from soldiers

What a crock. Ever try to de-esculate a guy with a RPG aimed at you? How about de-esculating a situation where a guy tells you he is armed then jams his hand in his pocket while you are in the fight of your life. It is real easy to be sitting back in your chair typing away on a computer about how people should do things and it is another when life and death decisions are being made right in front of you. Police work and soldiering are like comparing apples and puppies. Neither have anything to do with the other.

Stop trying to get your information from the media....they have an agenda. It was not but 40 years ago that the same media portrayed my father, a honorable soldier, as a baby killer. It is just not in fashion at this time. Make no mistake, if it made the media money Brandon Friedman would be labeled as a baby killer tomorrow.

Very good read. Has many great points to De-esculate. This should be practiced by all LEO's.
