Yeah, I'd always thought it'd make a really good biopic historical film...there was apparently also I'm fairlymcertaij a Mexican squadron that actually!!might've flown the Mexican flag...I could be wrong about that, Mexico I did read sent Mexican nationals to the US for training and inclusion, that I'm pretty well certain I'd read, however, I vaguelymrecapp reading about analogous Mexican unit that actually did go over under their own flag, per we, I'll try to find stuff on all that again if I get a chance...there were all kinds of oddball possible film topics like that I'd seen, another favorite I'd love to see done would be on the sinking of at least one German sub, possibly a second, by the Civil Air Patrol, you might've heard of the one case I'm sure of, the pilots were a Capt Johnny Haggin and a Maj Wynant Farr, Capt Haggin got an Air Medal, I'd read, it's a quite famous story, I've sent it in here sevl times, he was, I'd read, of Lebanese extraction, I gather he was finally allowed to go into the USAAF as a fighter or bomber pilot I think, thereafter....

I just love little desultory oddball historical tidbits like that....

Capt Daniel Goodman - Yes, and Civil Air Patrol had 26 Anti Submarine Coastal Patrol Bases on the East Coast. The German took note of CAP due to the number of their Submarines CAP spotted and it made their stealth much more difficult. In addition CAP had dropped homemade bombs and depth charge on 50 German Submarines. CAP also was and is very involved in Air Search and Rescue and performs 85% of the work in that area under the USAF. The CAP Cadet program is also a major program in Civil Air Patrol as it has been right along. I had spent over 40 years in CAP as had both My father and Brother.
