Geez--read the actual question that Comey was answering. It was can an AG or senior DOJ official (that does not include the President) halt an investigation. Comey says yes. Next question has it ever happened (meaning has the DOJ ever actually halted an investigation). Comey says no.
So the question and the answer has no bearing on whether the president tried to influence Comey.
If the right wingers would learn to actually read the words rather than the click bait headline, they would find that most of the things they assume are facts are pure BS.

...And he didn't mention the conversation with president trump. If the memo existed at that point and he had said anything about it, he would have admitted he violated US Code which compels him to disclose any information regarding interference in an investigation, immediately.

so... CYA! Either he violated the law or the memo magically appeared in an anonymous sources' hands months after it was created; fabricating evidence is also a felony, is it not.

Regardless kevin, IF he felt pressure to stop an investigation by anyone, he was compelled to report it by a law. The way the left is up in arms about the President's ALLEGED crime which hasn't been adjudicated, it's fairly obvious the left is attempting a "judicial/media circus" insurrection.
Under the law, comey was required to immediately inform the Department of Justice of any attempt to obstruct justice by any person, even the President of the United States. Failure to do so would result in criminal charges against Comey. (18 USC 4 and 28 USC 1361) He would also, upon sufficient proof, lose his license to practice law.

Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

True. He wasn't pressured. Doesn't mean he wasn't asked to drop the case, just means he wasn't threatened or been applied unwanted pressure to do. The context of the memo in question was Trump asked Comey not demanded Comey to do something. Even Trump understands words matter as he plays a lot of word games with folks at his rallies and his interviews for folks to interpret for themselves and keep them guessing (i.e. the tweet about tapes).

Which could be described as this from the same conversation: "I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don’t see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it."
