This agreement has proven to be a consequential agreement for the victors of the Great War. The borders were set artificially for many future nations which were untenable.

Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on May 19, 1916 representatives of Great Britain and France secretly reached an accord, known as the Sykes-Picot agreement, by which most of the Arab lands under the rule of the Ottoman Empire are to be divided into British and French spheres of influence with the conclusion of World War I.
Lord Balfour was involved in the process. The Ottoman Turks had slaughtered millions of Armenian Christian because of their faith during WWI.
The Ottoman Turkish Empire was broken up: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen and Jordan as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan were created.
Those who sided with the Entente were designated as leaders of these new nations. the House Of Saud was established as a regional leader at that point.
