CW5 Jack Cardwell One Sunday, a year after the Korean truce was signed in 1953, we met some British Soldiers in Seoul and offered to buy them a beer in a nearby PX facility that was in a ‘basement’. When our funds were exhausted, they took us to their NAFI - (Navy and Armed Forces Institute?) for some of their beer. The British are ‘singers’, their beer was good! A memorable afternoon it was!

In 1955, there was a small NAFI near the MSR and an entrance to Camp Casey. It was cuddly warm inside and served not coffee, but hot tea, sweetened with milk already added. Peak Frean’s Biscuits made a hit with me for a treat.

EDITED.
