I believe in sny program where funds are matched. To me that is free money. I retired from job #2 1996 with a sum of money in a 401k. Believe me, I have been drawing on it for 7 years now. And only drawn approx 30%. A lot of people will never sign up because of trust issues. Some think they will lose money. But my Brothers and Sister, don’t miss out. I am getting a return of about 4% on my money.

20% less in retirement for the new system? Hard to imagine how that passed legislation when we have been in two wars since 2003.

LTC (Join to see) - Sir maybe I shouldn’t have jumped in. I do not know your program but I do know the value of matching funds.. If I left an imptreeion that I supported the new system. If you have, which you do have people under the new system I would highly recommend put enough in where you get max matching. Otherwise I will back out and leave this subject alone

MSgt John McGowan Not at all. I retired end of 2015 with 23 years of service. I believe I was under the High 3. I was lucky that I invested in the TSP at 10% and had a Roth IRA and other investments with another firm. I preached saving for retirement to all my Soldiers. Most purchased expensive items instead of saving for their future.

Sir. You saw the need for saving early in life. I was in from 1956 to 1976. Low pay then but I still managed some saving. My # 2 job had the 401k. It took longer for thr company to offer it. With my SS and AF retirement, #2 job retirment and the 401k I get by. I tried to get some of the people I worked with to sign up. But no and my daughter had the sign up got 401 at her job and she ran into the same.
