Sadly that is what many in the national media seem to think. They need to tell us poor slobs what to think, because without their brilliant analysis, we would just be lost.
Unfortunately for them, many of us actually take the time to ask questions and look for answers, and because of that, we know that the press is full of shit.

Cpl Joshua Caldwell So true, most media reports are so skewed toward one side it is ridiculous!

Oh as if this isn't how both sides of political main stream media aren't guilty of using commentators and opinionators instead of real broadcast journalists. It's all entertainment. MSNBC has it's Morning Joe and Maddow, Fox News has it's The Five and O'Reilly Factor. What we need are Americans that think for themselves and not believe what they hear on TV or read on Twitter without fact checking. There's always another side to the story regardless who's making the statement.

You really have to listen to them and I mean LISTEN to ALL of them. They even believe your children belong to their collective.

Melissa Harris-Perry and the Firestorm Over ‘Collective’ Parenting
Your kids don’t belong to you—but the whole community. David Freedlander on the line that sparked outrage.

SSgt Christopher Brose - Just because a person doesn't admit to doing something doesn't mean that a person isn't doing it. Waiting for someone to admit to something before you accept what they are doing something or believe in something is the kind of ignorance that is aiding propagandist. Don't waste our time; you're an example of repeating only what you hear and not thinking for yourself.

MAJ James Woods - What you say is true in the abstract, but you made a specific accusation in a specific context, and you repeatedly refuse to provide evidence to support your allegation. My working theory is that you have no evidence and are simply blustering, and if I'm right about that, then YOU are the one who is spreading "ignorance that is aiding propagandist."
I'll try once again -- we have a concrete example of someone on the left claiming it is their job to "control exactly what people think" along with four other people who did not challenge that claim. To the best of my knowledge, nobody on the right has said it is their job to "control exactly what people think." If you think you have evidence that someone on the right has said or even thinks it is their job to "control exactly what people think," please provide it. Again, a quote (in context) or a video will do nicely.
