There was a time that England was a peaceful country and Bobbies needn't carry a weapon for protection of themselves or others. I've been to England a number of times as my wife is a Brit. In the Norwich area, Bobbies mostly are unarmed but weapons are nearby now.

I had applied and been accepted at the Norfolk Constabulary back in the about 1989 or so. Would have been the first American on it (in Norwich). Times have changed in that reserved, respectful country where people were polite, stopped for tea and enjoyed the sunny days, when they came. It is as little darker and more dangerous than ever.

They still are polite, etc, but there's guns in each car. In a locked safe. Most big cities now, the same Bobbies patrolling in twos, but one is armed and the other not.

To be fair, I've been comparing search results between google, bing and other search engines and right now google is not a search engine I would recommend as a full onto itself search engine, I'll let others come to their own conclusions it is worth a weekend sometime to check out for yourself if you are ever feeling nerdy.

I don't use Google myself, unless it's Google Scholar, but since it's what most people know it's my example..thanks though. Remember Dogpile!
