Sheriff is a Political Office, the Sheriff was elected. His job may or may not require any police experience or POST qualification. Until they move Ventura County to the border, he is just echoing his party line

This particular Sheriff is a 35 year veteran of his agency. So he decided to throw away 35 years of experience just to tote his party's line? Seriously?

SSG Edward Tilton - Actually ... it is reality. The politics are in the sanctuary support.

PO1 John C. - NO, I am saying this guy is a politician, not a Law Enforcement Officer. He is making a statement based on Politics not Law Enforcement. We all know how horrible life is on the beaches of Ventura County. Quoting that source is just repeating his party line. I guess he wants to be the "toughest Sheriff"" since Maricopa County got tired of paying Sheriff Joe's legal bills. His obvious successor in Pinal County was also thrown out when people found out the officer shot by drug dealers turned out to have been involved in drug trafficking. We all recall him from John McCains "Build the dang fence" commercials.

Again you are trying to put words in my mouth. Bringing a piece of propaganda from a publication which is as far right as this one, quoting the Sheriff of a rich community nowhere near the border about subjects he may or may not have any knowledge of is just not credible. You can read that stuff if you like, you can even believe it but, when someone presents it as truth I will speak out.
