"Older shells produced in 2007"? ,,,, that's funny. A shell produced then is considered old? Of course I imagine higher tech shells are more delicate but I routinely remember firing shells that were at LEAST 25-30 years old in the early 1980s. The M101A1 howitzer I was on was made in WW2.

One of the stronger points of the US military is we have a very efficient ordnance maintianance and Ammunition storage supply System. The internet is full of videos of ISIS/Taliban/Al-Queda types getting blown up by their own weapons systems because they haven't been maintained or the ammunition hasn't been stored properly.
A thirty year old Soviet Made mortar thats not been bore scoped or cleaned + Ammunition that's been stored for 10 years in a Goat Pen + a militant who has no clue about PM= Greasy Spot in the sand.
