My wife and I have canned vegetables for years. Now days we just do tomatoes, by the way they make a great gift especially in winter or when a good friend is sick. Great presentation those bell canning jars with a ribbon. The taste is similar to getting into a Time Machine and returning to summer for that 1st ripe tomato. Our children and grandchildren all have participated in the work and rewards from such activity.
