Our local news has been reporting on the people here illegally taking taxis from Plattsburgh, NY to the Canadian border daily. They just walk right across and into the arms of the RCMP, hoping Canada will accept them. Self-deportation is a wonderful thing.

You mean stealing Taxi abandoning them at the border? Committing a crime in the US will invalidate them automatically but yes the Canadian border enforcement aren't open arms and do detain them and put them on a fast track for in processing if they've been debriefed and found to be not a threat.

One taxi driver they interviewed says he makes multiple trips to the border; it's $50 for a single person and up to $200 for a family. I'd like to set up a Go-Fund me site to help more of them leave.

CDR Jon Corrigan - Nonsense. Let the free market determine the rates of the cabbies. You realize of course the drivers may become wanted men in Canada? To the Canadians they will become as the human traffickers from Mexico are to us.
We however may honor them as patriots. If they make a profit that is no affair of ours after all.
