I agree. And we don't take care of our own homeless...we have vets on the street. We have single moms in vehicles with kids...we have some who couch surf...(code for moving from one friend's place to another without a permanent residence) and yet, these people who don't belong here take up precious funds that could be used to solve some of this.

All that tells me is our safety net laws are FUBAR. Provide humanitarian medical only. Take serious action against employers that hire them.

And this surprises whom? Maybe if we cut welfare by 90% we wouldn't have this problem..how did people survive before these programs were available; they worked..

Agree. The incentives to work were much higher...there was social stigma attached to NOT having a job, and the lack of food, well there was that.
