That is strange SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I seem to remember precise air and sea launched strikes in Desert Storm, OIF and OEF which actually achieved their objectives. In those cases it was complete arms operations involving air, sea and ground based forces.
The operations against ISIS have been marginally successful. They are more successful when peshmerga and other forces reinforce the "precise" bombing and strikes and provide accurate damage assessments.
The CENTCOM officials still admit loss of civilians in these precise strikes. Exercising air power alone against insurgents and multinational terrorists is not wise.

LTC Stephen F. well said with emphasis on civilian losses and collateral damage. What do you think BOG will do? It's an option, but costly in my opinion!

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - Sergeant; I'd take that "most precise in history" with a grain of salt. I have no doubt that the current bombing campaign is MUCH more precise than the WWII bombing campaigns, but until the final "after action report" has been compiled there is no way of telling if it has been the "most precise in history".
On the other hand, I do notice that " coalition forces have dropped almost 35,000 precision-guided munitions on ISIL targets in Iraq and Syria" and that the estimated membership in ISIS is LOWER than 35,000. I can't really see any point in counting someone who you killed yesterday as another casualty today. [Does "Vietnam Body Count" have a faintly familiar ring to it?]

SSgt Dale W.
COL Ted Mc I was thinking the same thing as I read through the report. Perhaps many sheep were targeted as a means of destroying supplies. :-)

SSgt Dale W. Staff; One should always keep in mind that the Air Force (and this applies to ALL Air Forces) has a consistent record for 100% accuracy when bombing.
EVERY single bomb ever dropped has hit the surface of the Earth.

What is the take away from this? Nothing but its the most precise, maybe collateral damage will go down.
