When asked about "Limited" productions the guy signing my car, current head of design at FCA stated "we will build what the consumer will buy" so unless they had a bad year and the numbers came up short I will have to disagree with the past employee of FCA. FCA only stopped production of the VIPER because it did not sell. That is all they car about selling cars not what the car is worth 20 years from now when it crosses the stage at Mecum.

BTW also he is wrong about a lawsuit, FCA only releases one year of project production numbers and even then states they are subject to change. If 3000 sell this year and there is pent up demand then they will produce 3500 the next year or what their market research tells them. Wash rinse and repeat year for year until no one buys them or the demand falls off significantly.

Maybe it's an advertising tactics to sell more cars. I remember reading about that the original Dodge Daytona did not sell very well and dealers had to sell it off at a discount and those cars are so sought-after today.

LTC (Join to see) - That is because back then to race in NASCAR you had to meet a minimum production number. These days NASCAR cars have nothing to do with production cars.
