Why do we keeping beating this horse. Yes, slavery is a blemish on our country and those who were subject to its chains should not be forgotten..However, we, as Americans, have never been subject to slavery in any way shape or form. So why are we apologizing for something "we" had nothing to do with..That was the socioeconomic culture back in the early days of the USA and while condemned today let's not forget who provided slaves to American traders plying the triangle trade route, how soon we forget that little anecdote of history. We, as the human race all played a part in slavery then, but not now.

The treatment of the African American people has been and unfortunately still is based on (by certain groups of people) the fact that slaves are subhuman 3/5ths of a person and do not deserve the same rights as everyone else.
So forget the past NO, repeat the past NEVER.
