Pursuant to a delegation by the President, we have used the emergency Presidential Drawdown Authority on 55 occasions since August 2021 to provide Ukraine military assistance totaling approximately $31.7 billion from DoD stockpiles. That has to be a significant impact to our defense capability!

Everybody knows that war does not help things only makes it worse. Why are they doing it for money for power?

As terrible as it may be, there is a valid argument that war can be helpful. While war is primarily destructive and devastating, in certain circumstances, it can have a seemingly positive impact on an economy by creating a surge in government spending on military production, leading to increased employment, technological advancements, and sometimes even a boost in certain industries, particularly those related to defense and manufacturing.

Violence has resolved more disagreements throughout human history than any other means. Second place honors go to the threat of violence, even if only implied. Humans are inherently selfish. They will take what they can and give what they must.

They are already emboldened. Russia attacked Ukraine in February of 2022 due to a weak Biden leaving Afghanistan like he did and being Mr. Magoo( like today's last State Department Press Conference DISASTER. Finland and Sweden joined NATO.
Canada has noted this too but Outgoing Trudeau and Biden think that the Climate Emergency is a bigger threat.

LTC Eugene Chu - It worries them, it doesn't embolden them. Greenland being Danish is a joke to them, Greenland being American is a threat to their arctic ambitions. Plus, They know that Trump's rhetoric is hyperbolic. No, we're not going to invade. If anything, we offer them a compact of free association, like we have with three Pacific island nations. Honestly, though, they'd be better off becoming a U.S. territory, the financial upside is so much greater than with COFA status. Perhaps leave the FAOing to the FAOs?
