Powered by conventional oil fired steam propulsion systems. Can't launch fully loaded fighter jets. They've a long way to go and by the time they get there, super carriers may be a thing of the past

They'll be marginally effective against local countries other than Japan. That's about it. Japan'd do for that thing, though. As would we.

Carriers remain relevant so long as wars and combat actions are convential. Being able to have a mobile air field is a significant advantage.

The Marines have MAUs or MEUs or whatever they call’em these days. Why can’t the Navy task out Squadron or smaller task groups?
