China Senses and Acts on U.S. Weakness in South China Sea

let the flame wars begin in 3, 2, 1...
the Chinese DO have regional (and global) ambitions. the US Navy has been steadily shrinking and so have our Air Force and ground forces (forgive me fellow jarheads for lumping us in with the dogfaces)..
when you tie that in with wavering (at best), weak (at worst) foreign policy you wind up with a power vacuum.
nature, and foreign policy abhor a vacuum. so, China is stepping up.
what is needed is leadership (from the front, not the back) and support, both logistical and moral/legal, to get all the little guys in the neighborhood to help us take down the bully while we are busy taking on streetgangs elsewhere.
the question is, with our current political & economics issues, how?
