Hmm . . . the Chinese Tokamak facility kept plasma 2.6 times as hot as the Sun for 17 minutes.
Some physicists think fusion as an energy source is futile . . . that it is much more practical to research and develop zero-point energy which does not require costly (in many ways) huge thermodynamic events.

It seems like it would melt through anything. I think it's pretty cool that they can tell how hot the sun is.

PFC David Foster The research is cool too . . . many nations are researching fusion . . . but wondering about the practicality and intended application.
Also wondering about the temperature - like is it is an average - because, strangely enough, the outside of the sun is hotter than the inside.
