Who cares? A lot of folk being sensitive on both sides - let the LtCol speak his mind. It is apparent to me that freedom of speech is dying, that the the majority of public opinions is succumbing to that. Either way, I don't think that will have any bearing on her appointment. Lastly, the reporting source sounds like it's making trouble where there isn't any - sound familiar?

So first off there is no proof she lied, she may not have even acknowledged she was a lesbian to herself when she signed up. I worked with a Women (yes she was Active duty) that had been married, had a son, was a mom but she just never felt right. She did what everyone expected her to do. When she met her future Wife it hit her. She got a divorce and then married a women. They now have a kid together plus her son.
Not everyone if out from birth, as a society people are what their family's expect them to be... till they decided to be what they want / are.
DaDT: Was a simple system the .mill refused to pry and you kept your private life... well private. With Its repeal and the new system of (I'm summing up here) "Fuck It we really don't care" We now live in a world where gays and lesbians can live their lives AND serve this Nation. Me I think that's great! If you love this country enough to sign on the line what does your sexual orientation have to do with anything?
In the case of Dowty... I think he is just being a condescending jerk with an issue over someone else's life style and fails to understand we no longer live in a world where you can punish people for having a private consensual relationship with who they want.
