In 1940, William Knudsen telephoned K.T. Keller, the chief executive of Chrysler, and asked him if Chrysler could build tanks. “I don’t know,” came the answer. “I’ve never seen one of these things.” Soon after, Chrysler broke ground on what would come to be known as the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant, situated in what is now the suburb of Warren. Its goal: to build swarms of tanks according to auto-making mass production principles—something never accomplished before.
Even before the factory had been completed, the first Chrysler M3 tank rolled off the assembly line. The walls of the factory were not even up, so engineers brought a steam locomotive in to keep the place warm for the workers during Michigan’s bitter winter of 1940-41. As the factory swelled to 1.25 million square feet, the company switched to M4 Sherman tanks, which were powered by a Frankenstein of a motor. Engineers took five six-cylinder engines that had been used in the Chrysler Royal and Windsor cars before the war and welded them together into one 30-cylinder motor that could pump 425-horsepower to the tank treads.

In the end, the Detroit Arsenal built more tanks than all of the Third Reich during the war years, tanks that roared through enemy lines all the way to Hitler’s Berlin.

Biden is an idiot and thinks China is a competitor and not an adversary.

Sir I see and agree with your concerns and I have also been concerned about the exact same thing. Biden is depleting our war stock at a rate that can’t continue because he hasn’t been replenishing it to ensure we have what we need and first. He also needs to understand that Russia, China and North Korea also knows that because it’s not a secret. I think after two years it’s not going to be sustainable to continue pumping all of our Ammunition and Equipment into Ukraine. It’s also my understanding that we’ve been paying the salaries and retirements of their Government and military. If that is true it needs to be stopped immediately because we can’t even afford to pay our own. I too have been saying the US should not be sending our Tanks and Aircraft anywhere because it will eventually be used against us one way or the other, if Russia or China get their hands on our equipment because they will start reverse engineer it to determine its strengths and weaknesses and all our technology to their Tanks because we already know their best Tanks suck. It really pissed me off when our government with the approval of our former commandant took all Four USMC Tank Battalions away from the Corps with truly understanding the real damage they have caused to our ability to operate as a Corps. That was an insane and thoughtless mistake because if you understand the definition of a Corps and its ability to operate independently you know it needs all its supporting Arms to operate and because of one man’s ignorance, we can no longer sustain our independence to operate as a Corps because will now be depending on the Army if and when we need to go heavy to support our ground troops and light armored reconnaissance battalions. I’m not sure where they went but, it was four complete Tank Battalions and all their support assets. Now back to the original Topic. All I know is it’s getting past time that we tell Germany, Poland, France and the rest of the EU to step up and take responsibility for their own defense which is to also defend Ukraine. All the USA has been doing is supplying an endless War that I think we all knew deep down Ukraine could never win. We’re all professional fighters and we know that Ukraine will not win this war unless we get involved and to be completely honest I can’t say that I’m 100% convinced that Ukraine is worth one once of American blood, especially when all those European countries are once again just sitting back depending on the USA to bare burden because Trumps no longer president because if he were I don’t believe we’d be having this conversation. I remember Trump hiving his speech to NATO and explained it wasn’t the USA’s responsibility to defend Europe, he clearly stated and they all acknowledged that is the job of NATO and thats not what they were doing, they’re all depending on the USA and as long as we were doing it all they don’t care. Once Trump made it clear the USA was no longer the world police NATO decided it was ready to step up and Russia clearly understood they no longer called the shots in Europe, NATO did. Now on to Israel, we can not afford to let Israel fall because they are our only true ally in the Middle East therefore I believe it is also our responsibility to help them because without our help they’ll be quickly destroyed by all those Israeli hating animals they call neighbors. We also know tgere is not another country in that area that will help Israel because, they really don’t believe Israel should be there. Now with that being said, I also believe Israel needs to get this war over as quickly as humanly possible because we all know the longer it drags on it’ll become just another endless war just like Afghanistan. I believe that if NATO gets its shit together and they start moving their heavy armor and air support into Ukraine and if Russia still doesn’t get the message, then they need to start pushing Russia out because the USA can not continue depleting our war stock defending Ukraine. It’s time Biden stops supplying Ukraine and start rebuilding our war stock because it’s not if China invades Twain its when China decides it wants Twain back and that’s sooner than later. In our current state of readiness there is no way we’ll be useful or able to support Twain with just supplies and we will be drawn into that war. We’ll be drawn in because the entire world will be at the mercy of China, because China will control all shipping lanes that supply the entire worlds needs and when they shut down those channels this world will become a very miserable place to live in especially if you have to depend on China. I believe it’s time the American people and these greedy politicians wake up to the reality that Ukraine isn’t our problem, China is therefore it’s time we get serious and bring all our manufacturing back home and especially our medicines and electronics. That’s just my small world opinion but I can see the writing in the wall and China will not stop so we better get energy independence and Manufacturing back in this country so we don’t wait until it to late and our people are dying because we can’t make the medicines they will need to survive and China is well aware of this especially if a simple man like me understands that.
