This is not uncommon.

"As of the current Census taken during August, 2000, the surviving U.S. Vietnam Veteran population estimate is: 1,002,511. This is hard to believe, losing nearly 711,000 between ’95 and ’00. That’s 390 per day. During this Census count, the number of Americans falsely claiming to have served in-country is: 13,853,027. By this census, FOUR OUT OF FIVE WHO CLAIM TO BE VIETNAM VETS ARE NOT."

SGT (Join to see), the article says that it was between '95 and '00. The math works out for a 5 year period.

The thing that interested me was the number of those claiming to be veterans vs. those that actually served. It would seem that those that abused us when we came home now want to be seen as being one of us.

Capt Seid Waddell - That's typical. If I ever encountered a wannabe who was one of those that abused us, and made us feel worse than we already felt, and I found out, I would kick him in the nuts and abuse him.

Capt Seid Waddell - I know. I've met three and you're right. They aren't worth the time of day. Just venting.

Extradition to US and charge him. With increased relations with Vietnam it is possible. I'm sure they don't appreciate fakers either
