As part of the security team, we have many who carry in the church.

TSgt George Rodriguez I wish we were up to "team", but I the only one right now. Our Sheriff started offering active-shooter classes a couple of years ago, and three of us have gone so far. The massacre at Southerland Springs, Texas got my attention, and our area isn't immune to bad actors.

SGT Steve McFarland - Ask your sheriff to attend your church to check out the problems that could arise for an active shooter. Invite church members to volunteer to attend this meeting and learn how to protect the church. He should be able to point out entrances that should be locked so that outside users have to enter thru the front door which should be monitored. Those entrances that are locked should be able to exit from the inside. Natural disasters such as fire, tornados, or any other disaster should be practiced with the staff and attendees. To be prepared beats the chaos of not.

TSgt George Rodriguez We already lock all the doors except for the main entrance at the beginning of our services. Great idea to invite our Sheriff to come look around our facilities.
